FA Cup: Manchester United 1 Wolves 0 – Player ratings
Joe Edwards rates the players as Wolves bow out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 loss at Manchester United.
John Ruddy
A top performance from the stand-in shot-stopper. Did very well to prevent James from taking the ball around him early on, and then kept out the winger on the stroke of half-time. Also saved efforts from Mata and Martial before being beaten by the former with a delicate chip. 8
Leander Dendoncker
Let James in behind a few too many times, with Ruddy having to bail him out. It was surprising to see James taken off by the hosts as Dendoncker struggled to cope against him. 6
Conor Coady
Passed the ball nicely early on but will be disappointed with the nature of United's goal, with Wolves' high line being punished by Mata. 6
Romain Saiss
The best of the back three, with United finding little joy down his side. Did the basics well all night. 7
Matt Doherty
Hit the post with a close-range header in the first half but faded out of the game in the second. 6
Ruben Neves
He tried his luck from distance a few times but was unable to hit the target. 6
Joao Moutinho
Pressed relentlessly and moved the ball well, as he always does. No killer passes, but generally tidy. 7
Jonny Castro Otto
Not troubled a great deal defensively but did not offer too much going forward either before being replaced by Vinagre. 6
Adama Traore
Played on the left of the front three for most of the night, instead of the right, and won a fair few fouls. Caused some problems but, ultimately, not as much as he usually does. 6
Raul Jimenez
Worked an early opportunity with a lovely turn but put the shot straight at Romero. Looks tired and could do with a rest, but Wolves have nobody to come in for him at the moment. 6
Pedro Neto
A promising display from the teenager. Danced past Maguire at one point and had a good battle with Williams, which ended up about 50/50. Made the wrong decision at times in the final third but has a swagger about him. 7
Subs
Morgan Gibbs-White (for Neto, 71)
Will be happy to have got some minutes after a while out injured. 5
Ruben Vinagre (for Otto, 75)
Went on a few runs and looked to be struggling with an injury after the final whistle. 5
Oskar Buur (for Traore, 88)
