Nuno: Wolves' class told in Brentford win

Goals from Ruben Neves, Barry Douglas and Diogo Jota saw Wolves move 12 points clear at the top of the Championship after their rivals slipped up yesterday.

Wolves created several chances in the first half but went in at half time goalless.

And Nuno said a changed of attitude allowed their superior quality to shine through and win the game.

"We had to change our attitude (at half time) and we changed it," he said. "It was about getting the energy and the spirit of the team back, support each other and go and win the game.

"I think both teams played good football.

"In the first half we had chances but at the same time we had to know how to defend and keep a good shape. Brentford is a good team, good movement, good possession, good midfield that knows how to unbalance us,

"Keeping the shape was very important and then in the second half our talent came and we were able to get a good and deserved victory.

"What I saw in the first half was a team that controlled the game but we needed more energy.

"t comes from the attitude and the support of the fans – we played in front of almost 30,000 people.

"We must go for the game, we cannot have any attitude that wasn't a desire to win and go for it."

The game was Wolves' fourth in 11 days and they've come through a hectic festive schedule with an increased lead at the top thanks to earning 10 points out of a possible 12.

Nuno added: "It was a tough cycle, very tough. These boys played a lot of minutes in very short days.

"Today they enjoy it and were able to get energy from each other. The only way to win a game is as a team and we showed we are a team.

"It was a very important game for us, after this period of time, after what we did in Bristol, coming here and not closing the cycle well – we couldn't do that."
