The former Albion shot-stopper was given a tremendous reception on his debut on Saturday, in his first game for eight months after leaving Brighton in May.

Kuszczak produced a Man of the Match performance in the 2-1 defeat against Reading, even though his first duty was to pick the ball out of the net following Pavel Pogrebnyak's 19-second opener.

The 32-year-old became the first player to cross the Black Country and play for Wolves after representing the Baggies since Paul Edwards in 1994.

He said: "It just shows that everyone understands the situation," said Kuszczak. "As soon as I signed the contract for Wolves I said 'I'm part of the family' and I am.

"I signed the contract here because I think it's a great club, and it's a positive move for me where I can see my career progress.

"Football was my dream and it's my job – I played for West Brom and gave 100 per cent and I play for Wolves and give 100 per cent too.

"Some players are lucky to stay at one club for their whole career but there aren't many of them.

"So as a professional you have to accept moving around and it doesn't matter which club I play for, I always give 100 per cent and try to make the supporters happy."

Kuszczak is set for an extended run in the team with Carl Ikeme out for up to eight weeks.

And the former Manchester United shot-stopper wants to earn a new deal with his contract up at the end of the season. Kuszczak believes the early goal rocked Wolves on Saturday.

He said: "The game was difficult because we conceded such an early goal. It looked like everyone was surprised by it.

"We didn't create many clear-cut chances and in the second half, I made quite a few saves and they kept coming at us."
