The Baggies saw their lead at the top of the division cut to just a single point following a 1-0 loss to Paul Cook’s side.

Slaven Bilic’s team have only lost three games at home all season.

But they have all come against sides struggling at the wrong end of the table with Middlesbrough and Stoke joining Wigan in registering surprise wins.

Krovinovic, though, believes that shows just how strong the division is.

“We lost, we did not want to lose but these things happen in football,” the Croatian said.

“This league is the most complicated league in the world. We have only lost to the teams that are near the bottom of the table. It has been like that.

“But that doesn’t mean that they are bad teams, as Wigan showed. We have to think positively and focus on the next game.”

The clash against the Latics was Albion’s seventh game of a hectic February – with Bilic’s side flat throughout.

And Krovinovic conceded tiredness may have been a factor in the team’s underwhelming display.

“Maybe, these things are normal in football,” he continued.

“We have had a lot of games in two/three weeks and even before that. But we need to stand up.

“We need to think positively, we have got 10 cup finals and the aim is to win every game. Everything depends on us.”

Krovinovic has shone for the Baggies in recent weeks having been deployed in a central midfield role – with the 24-year-old having largely been used as a No 10 when he featured earlier in the campaign.

But his current position is one he feels suits his all-round game.

“I played that position with my team in Croatia when I was a little kid and when I was in Portugal with Rio Ave and Benfica,” he added.

“I am used to it. I know how to play it and I like to help the team to defend and attack.

“I like to do both. I like to fight also. I love it, I enjoy it.”
