Every year West Brom hold a Foundation Day in a bid to raise awareness of the life-changing programmes the club's charity provides in the local community.

The focus this year will be on the Foundation’s need for a new disability minibus with supporters encouraged to “bring a pound to the ground.”

The minibus will cost £70,000 with the club promising to match-fund all donations made on the day.

Bucket collectors will be located around The Hawthorns. Fans will also have the opportunity to get their hands on signed, match-worn Albion shirts via an online auction.

Programme cover artist Liam Harris has also come up with a memorable image to celebrate the day.

The Albion fan is designing the match-day programme this year with comic book-inspired representations of Baggies stars.

But this week the cover star is Chris Gordon, the captain of Albion's all-conquering powerchair team.

Liam said: "The challenge for me with this week's cover was showcasing the spirit and passion that our Power-chair team have for the game.

"Not only that but their successes within the sport has been nothing short of brilliant which is why I opted to include their recent Silverware held by Chris.”

Meanwhile, Albion Foundation director Rob Lake urged fans to bring a pound to the game.

“It’s a simple request to the fans to please bring a pound to the ground," he said.

“We need a specially-adapted disability minibus which has hydraulics in order to load powerchairs, so it’s an expensive piece of kit.

“The one we’ve had for the last 10 years has reached the end of its life and we need to replace it as soon as possible.

“The current van has more than 90,000 miles on the clock, it breaks down on a regular basis and it is costing us a lot in maintenance. Simply put, it’s no longer fit for purpose so we are desperate to get a new one.

“If every fan was to give us just a little bit then it will go on to make a huge difference, particularly as the club have offered to match every pound donated on Foundation Day.”
