Boss Steve Burr has called on Stafford Rangers to rediscover their mojo in the league – after two promising cup displays.

Boro return to action in the Northern Premier, in which they have lost five of their last six games, as they host Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.

And Burr is determined to keep up the momentum following a 2-1 FA Trophy win over Rushall Olympic last weekend, and a triumph by the same scoreline against Staffordshire neighbours Chasetown in the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night.

“What we have to do is make sure we get that level of consistency we want,” he said.

“The lads went out and showed the fitness and desire we want from them on Saturday, and they played really well on Tuesday.

“We’re back in action in the league now and it’s time for us to pick up points.

“There’s still a lot of points left to play for and I’m confident we can push into that top part of the table.”

Rangers currently sit 16th out of 22 teams, 15 games into the campaign.

Daniel Burns, who was then sent off in the 47th minute, and Ethan Stanton got the goals against Rushall.

Jake Charles and Tom Thorley struck at Chasetown.

“We played well against Chasetown, some our play was excellent. We dug in with 10 men for most of the second half to beat Rushall as well,” added Burr. “It just shows what we can do when we’re at it.”
