The Boro started on the front foot and could have gone ahead in the seventh minute as Theo Bailey-Jones saw his effort denied by the post.

In an end-to-end half Luke Dean saw his effort deflected wide before Boro striker Harry Benns felt he should have been awarded a penalty.

However, it was Scarborough who took the lead on the 30th minute when Wayne Brooksby fired his effort past goalkeeper Morgan Bacon.

Rangers tried to reply immediately but saw their effort cleared off the line.

And then in the 38th minute they did level the tie with Louis Briscoe’s corner finding the head of Tom Thorley to put his side back into the tie.

Four minutes before the break the visitors pounced on a defensive mistake and striker James Walshaw capitalised to make it 2-1.

Scarborough sealed the points on the 54th minute with Kevin Burgess hooking his header home.
