It was yesterday confirmed Dean Smith’s men will get the ball on the top flight’s restart when they host Sheffield United on Wednesday week (kick-off 6pm).

They next welcome Chelsea on Sunday, June 21 (4.15pm) before a midweek trip to Newcastle on Wednesday, June 24 (6pm).

The home derby against Wolves has, meanwhile, been brought forward 24 hours from the provisional fixture list leaked earlier in the week and will now be played on Saturday, June 28, kicking-off at 12.30pm.

Having waited more than three months to restart the campaign, Villa’s fate will now be decided over the course of five-and-a-half busy weeks into which a quarter of the season’s fixtures will be crammed, culminating on July 26.

None of Villa’s first four fixtures will be broadcast free-to-air, with Sky Sports scheduled to screen the Sheffield United and Chelsea matches, while the Newcastle and Wolves games will both be on BT Sport. The remaining fixture schedule will be released in due course.
