Goals are flowing for Wolverhampton Casuals

Wolverhampton Casuals will be looking to keep the goals flowing when they take their West Midlands League Premier Division title push to AFC Bridgnorth tomorrow, writes Nick Elwell.

While Casuals boast the best defensive record in English football’s top 10 tiers – with only four against – they hadn’t been particularly prolific at the other end.

But that has changed in their last two games thanks to successive 6-0 wins.

After seeing off Wem last weekend, Casusals enjoyed a midweek repeat against Dudley Sports, with Jamaine Turner bagging a hat-trick and Karen Danilian, Todd Ferrier and Lewis Gill also netting.

Those victories have left Casuals sitting pretty in fourth place and boss Dean Gill will be looking for more of the same as they continue to play catch-up on the sides above them.

“We have to keep going,” said Gill. “Over the next few weeks we will play our games in hand, and if we can win those then that will put us in a really strong position.

“I’ve said it before, but the aim is to get a top four place nailed down as quickly as possible and then we can look at where we are with regard to the title.”
