Hotel will reopen on Monday
More pictures have been released of Wolverhampton’s new-look Britannia Hotel ahead of next week’s reopening.
The hotel, formerly the Victoria, in Lichfield Street, is due to reopen to the public on Monday, after five years of housing asylum seekers.

Major renovation works have been carried out since it stopped housing asylum seekers in April this year, and all 118 bedrooms and bathrooms have now been refitted with contemporary furnishings and modern amenities.
There is also an updated entrance foyer, designed to create a more welcoming guest experience.

Prakash Sivarajan, director of Britannia Hotels Group, said: “Britannia Wolverhampton Hotel is a magnificent building and we’re pleased to share a look at the extensive refurbishment that has taken place over the past few months. Our aim was to create a welcoming environment for both business and leisure visitors and offer the comfort and convenience that guests today expect. Our impending reopening represents a new chapter in the life of the hotel.”
The hotel had become a frequent target for anti-immigration protests during its time providing asylum accommodation.
