The band played a number of old and new songs on the Chris Evans show on BBC Radio 2 yesterday morning, hosted by Sara Cox, dedicating 'Red Red Wine' to Nicola and Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice.

Two months ago 32-year-old Nicola, who is mother to 12-year-old Chloe and 19-month-old Shyann, was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

After a dose of radiation treatment, just five weeks ago she received the news her cancer was terminal.

A special message from Nicola to all of you :)#NicolasWish

With the help of Compton Hospice's PR and marketing officer Grace Ruston, Nicola, from Wordsley, posted her bucket list wish to meet UB40 on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.

Just 24 hours later, band members Ali Campbell and Astro turned up to meet a Nicola.

During the radio show frontman Ali said: "There is a lovely bunch of people up there (at Compton Hospice) and we will be dedicating the last song to them, and to Nicola especially."

Host Sara added they all send Nicola 'loads of love'.
