By Alex Ross | Walsall | News | Published:

Fire crews were at a disused school in Walsall throughout the night after a blaze gutted part of the building.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the single-storey building next to Leamore Park in Bloxwich at 7.40pm last night .

Around 10 per cent of the building in Field Close was affected, West Midlands Fire Service said, while photos taken at the scene showed charred debris and major damage to the roof.

The boarded-up building backs onto Leamore Park and is next to Blakenall Heath Junior School and the Pinfold Industrial Estate.

Four crews were sent to the site, with some staying until 7am on Wednesday.
