Stafford house fire fundraising event planned in memory of young victims

A night of song, dance and comedy will be held on Saturday to raise funds for the family of four children who died in a house fire in Stafford.

Riley Holt, aged eight, Keegan Unitt, six, Tilly Rose Unitt, four, and Olly Unitt, three, died in the fire in Sycamore Lane, Highfields, on February 5.

So far more than £30,000 has been raised for the family of the youngsters, which has been put in a trust.

Some money will be used to help pay for the funerals but the trustees as much of the costs were likely to be met by Stafford Borough Council and funeral directors, cash would be left over.

The remaining money will be left for two-year-old Jack, who survived the tragedy alongside his 24-year-old mother Natalie Unitt and her 28-year-old partner Chris Moulton, who jumped out of a first-floor window.

This Saturday's fundraising event will begin at 7pm at Stafford's Gatehouse Theatre.

Stephen Glover from SSPA Events has pulled the evening together which will feature dance, song and comedy.

Street Dance group Captivate have confirmed their attendance and have put a routine together for the evening. Another dance act is Aaliyah Jennings who has won awards all over the country for her solo performances. Dancer Thorben Carter will also be providing a solo street dance act. Thorben, is currently in full time dance training but has also performed with the Diversity Juniorz group.

Neil Mason will be bringing some swing to the evening and singing some popular numbers from Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and others.

Tickets for the show are only £10 per adult and all under 16 tickets for the show are free with an accompanying adult. All tickets are available at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre Box Office.

The investigation is still ongoing into the fire.

A woman, 24, and a man, 28, arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence, have been bailed.
