Passenger killed in rural Staffordshire crash

A passenger was killed in a two-car crash in Staffordshire.

The 57-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Uttoxeter just after 2pm yesterday.

Another woman was seriously injured and given trauma care on the scene before being airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

And a man sustained potentially serious injuries and was treated on the scene before being taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

The crash involved a silver Peugeot 206 and a white Alfa Romeo Mito and happened at the junction of Loxley Lane and Quee Lane in Willslock.

The woman who died was a passenger in the Peugeot.

Her family has been told and is being supported by specialist officers, Staffordshire Police said.

Officers from the West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and carried out a detailed examination.
