Police rescue 12-foot snake spotted by resident slithering along West Bromwich street

Police have rescued a 12-foot yellow python from a residential street in West Bromwich, after receiving a call from the public in the early hours of the morning.

West Midlands Police received the call at 1.30am this morning (Sept 5) alerting them to the fact that the 12-foot snake was slithering along Harwood Street.

Officers handled the situation as the RSPCA could not attend the scene due to the time of the call.

Thankfully, the impressive snake was safely rescued and was transferred to a nearby vets for overnight care.
