Becky Armstrong from Stafford has been sewing face masking for donations to a food bank

Becky Armstrong, 40, of Stafford, is raising money for House of Bread by hand-crafting the masks from cloth.

She said: “The original fundraiser has now closed, raising a total of £3,268.50, which was more than I could ever imagined.

"After I added up the numbers, I have made somewhere in the region of 450 masks that got sent out to places as far away as Australia.

"People were also incredibly generous and donated fabric, elastic, stamps and other sewing things I needed.

“I think people liked to be a part of it and join in on something positive.”

The idea started when she made masks for herself and people approached her asking where she got them from, so she began crafting them with proceeds going to House of Bread food bank.

She is continuing to sell the masks on ebay to raise funds for the food bank.
