Stranded horse rescued from water-filled ditch in Staffordshire

Around 20 firefighters worked with locals to rescue a horse from a water-filled ditch.

Specialist firefighters helped rescue this horse

Several crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Husphins Lane, Codsall Wood at around 3.40pm on December 7 following a request for an animal rescue.

They used specialist gear to get it out before it was treated by a vet and left in the care of its owner.

Crews from Cannock, Leek, Tamworth and Wombourne attended the scene.
