Several arrests across Wolverhampton in crackdown on crime and anti-social behaviour
Several people have been arrested in a crackdown on thefts, anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in Wolverhampton.
Officers also have been tackling nuisance vehicles and bikes, drugs, knife crime issues across the city during August.
In Wednesfield & Heath Town a motorbike was seized after reports of off-road bikers including in Ashmore Park in Wednesfield and Bentley Bridge. Inquiries are ongoing after several suspects were identified following a criminal damage incident at Bentley Bridge.
As part of the force's Safer Streets Summer initiative a man has been charged with public order offences following his arrest at Bentley Bridge and a second man charged over shoplifting and drug offences in Heath Town.
Officers in Ettingshall, Blakenhall & Spring Vale arrested a man on suspicion of possessing of two blades and a class B drug after stopping and searching a vehicle suspected of drug activity.
St Peter's, Park and Graiseley team arrested a woman for offences of theft from a motor vehicle and fraud involving stolen cards. She was subsequently sentenced to 34 weeks at court. Following a tip-off the team carried out a swoop at a property and made three arrest after seizing suspected illicit drugs and cash.
Motorists were also targeted resulting in Tettenhall, Penn & Merry Hill officers stopping a vehicle in the Merry Hill area after a child was reportedly seen sitting on an adult's lap without a seatbelt. The driver, who had no licence or insurance, will be prosecuted for document offences and the vehicle has been seized.
Meanwhile in Bilston & East Park officers issued a parking ticket to a lorry driver after his vehicle was found obstructing the pavement causing pedestrians to step into the road to get past it. The team also seized two cars after they were found to have no road tax.
