Willenhall shop raiders steal booze, cigarettes and cash in 100 seconds

Thieves broke into a Willenhall convenience store and stole the till, alcohol and cigarettes in less than two minutes.

Two men forced the shutters open at Bains, in Pooles Lane, at about 4.30am yesterday then smashed glass to get into the shop.

The crooks, wearing grey Nike tracksuits, made off in a white van after being inside the shop for one minute and 40 seconds.

Owner Jasy Bains said police were alerted and arrived within six minutes but the men had gone.

He said: "The cameras show a white van pulling up and two males jumping out the back and taking off the shutter they then went on to smash the glass to gain access.

"Within one minute and 40 seconds they had completely robbed us of cigarettes, the till, alcohol bottles etc.

"They young guys casually robbed the store no rush or panic as they are seen calmly walk around the shop.

"Within six minutes police arrived at the shop however they had just missed the burglars.

"It sickens me at times like this where people should be coming together.

"We have a lot of elderly customers who which we try and provide for as much as we can to save them from having to go to the big supermarkets with more people.

"We are asking anybody who has any information to please come forward as there is a cash reward for anyone who can get us a conviction and take these selfish people off the streets and prevent them attacking any other small independent business."

West Midlands Police has been asked to comment.
