Greening Birmingham’s Transportation is being organised by ATETA, the new European Regional Development funded small and medium sized business support programme from the Birmingham Energy Institute and Energy Systems Catapult.

It is taking place on Thursday, June 14, in St Cyprian’s Memorial Hall, The Fordrough, Hay Mills, Birmingham from 1pm to 4.30pm.

There will be information on measures the UK government is putting in place to tackle air pollution from vehicles and the resultant health problems. Birmingham is one of the first six cities that will be mandated to introduce a Clean Air Zone.

Those attending will be able to find out how their business fleet can respond to the need for compliance.

As part of the national agenda, Tyseley Energy Park is creating opportunities for companies to access a new site focused on commercial refuelling from using bio-diesel and compressed natural gas to Electric and Hydrogen fuels.

Speakers will include Sylvia Broadley from Birmingham City Council; David Horsfall, of Tyseley Energy Park; Paul Gambrell, from Energy Savings Trust and Andrew Hope, of Veolia.

The event is particularly aimed at fleet operators, businesses which hire and lease commercial vehicles and those that procure delivered services.
