Tipton car parts company changes hands

A Tipton business making components for the car industry has changed hands for an undisclosed figure.

CAB Automotive on Vaughan Trading Estate, Sedgley Road West, has been bought from parent Advancel

HP Pelzer Holding GmbH has announced the acquisition of Tipton firm CAB Automotive Limited from its parent company Advancel by Germany's HP Pelzer Holding a subsidiary of Witten-based Adler Pelzer Group, a worldwide leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of acoustic and thermal components and systems for the automotive industry.

The group has a network of manufacturing plants, and research and design facilities in more than 70 locations with over 11,000 employees worldwide.

CAB Automotive, which was founded in 2005, makes and supplies seating, interiors and parcel trays for both vehicle manufacturers and tier one suppliers to the automotive sector. Customers include Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin and McLaren.

The company, which has a 110,000 sq ft site at Vaughan Trading Estate,turns over in the region of £40 million a year. Its workforce grew from 100 to 600 in h=just six years.
