Crews from Walsall Fire and West Bromwich Fire Stations attended the fire between the M6 and Junction 1 on the M5 southbound.
The fire involving a car towing a caravan began around 2.15pm this afternoon.
All lanes have now reopened, but delays are expected until 4pm this afternoon.
