Man suffers head injury and fracture in Wolverhampton motorbike fall
A man suffered a head injury and fractured collarbone when he fell from a motorbike in Wolverhampton.
The air ambulance and paramedics were called to the accident on a dirt track off Blackhalve Lane in Wolverhampton at around 3.15pm yesterday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service communications officer Claire Brown said: "A passer-by was flagged down to call 999 after children reported a motorcyclist had injured himself nearby.
"Upon arrival ambulance staff were directed by the children down a dirt track on foot and found the man, in his 50s. Upon assessment ambulance staff and the medic found he had sustained a head injury and a fractured collarbone.
"The man was carefully immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board and carried to the awaiting helicopter before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further treatment."
