Fire crews and paramedics were called to New Swan Lane, Black Lake, at around 3.30pm today.

The female driver was trapped inside the Citroen.

Firefighters used cutting tools to remove the roof of the vehicle and the woman was treated at the scene by paramedics and placed on a spinal board as a precaution before being taken to hospital.

Crews remained at the scene to ensure the vehicle was safe and investigations into what caused the accident were taking place this evening.

Watch commander Trevor Parkes, of West Bromwich Fire Station, said: "There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

"There was only the female driver in the vehicle at the time of the crash."
