One of the best-known restaurants in Willenhall, that has been serving customers for decades, has closed down with a loss of 12 jobs. The Dale House is an 18th century townhouse in Bilston Street.

It was put up for sale earlier this year on a 10-year lease for £45,000. But owners Mike Seabridge and Adrian Hill said they were forced to close after cancellations and a downturn in business. Mr Hill said the news the business was up for sale had put customers off going there.

He would only say: "We put the business up for sale, and we didn't sell it so we decided to close. It became unviable."

The restaurant is believed to have been closed since Sunday, and the landlord of the building now needs to decide what to do with it.
