Pink and Dua Lipa go head to head for number one spot

They will be the first female solo artist to top the singles chart since Adele.

Pink and Dua Lipa are racing to be the first female solo artist to top the singles charts in almost two years.

If either bags the top spot they will be the first solo woman to reach number one on the Official Singles Charts since Adele, who nabbed the spot in October 2015 with Hello.

Pink is currently heading for number two with her track What About Us, which has surged up the chart from 83, but Dua Lipa is just 512 combined sales ahead, the Official Charts Company said.

Despacito by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber is holding steady at number four while Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller drops from three to five.

On the album charts Elvis Presley could topple Ed Sheeran from the top spot.

It is less than 200 combined chart sales ahead of Ed Sheeran’s ÷, which has not left the top three since it was released 23 weeks ago.

If Presley goes to the top of the charts he will extend his record as the soloist with the most UK number one albums with 14 number ones.
