Their concert marked the opening of the autumn/winter season of jazz shows promoted by the Lichfield Arts Jazz And Blues organisation.

And what sophisticated, mature sounds came from this group on Wednesday, with alto saxophonist Liam Brennan leading an unusual new project.

With Brennan in Lichfield were James Romaine on alto saxophone, James Borland on trumpet, Simeon May on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Josh Vadiverloo on bass, and drummer Kai Chareunsy.
