The Songsters members Phil Holden, former mayor of Dudley Steve Waltho, Keith Moss and Maurice Beddall are set to perform

The Songsters, a 60-strong male voice choir, will take to the stage at Dudley Town Hall for the "Legends of Pop" event.

They will perform songs from the 60s and 70s – including hits from The Beatles, The Hollies, Elvis and more.

The Jivettes will also perform a series of Motown classics and Abba favourites – showcasing the best of female groups and solo singers.

Councillor Steve Waltho, a member of The Songsters, said: "This year we're doing our own kind-of tribute to the 60s and 70s – it's different from our traditional stuff.

"It's essentially around that time and we're doing songs from Queen as well – it's quite a diverse programme.

"We've got quite a following, to be honest, and over the years we've managed to partly sell out the town hall.

"And it's slightly different this time because there's also a group called The Jivettes."

Mr Waltho, a former mayor of Dudley, said: "My arm was twisted when I was a former mayor of the borough.

"At the end of the year I joined them and they've done hundreds of concerts, raised money for charity, and they are a great bunch of guys."

Radio star Ian "Porky" Jones will introduce each performance, turning it into a Top of the Pops-esque performance.

It will be held on September 28 at 7.30pm at Dudley Town Hall.

Tickets cost £20. Call 01746 763 850 or visit http://boroughhalls.co.uk/songsters-pop.htm
