The Coral are coming back to Birmingham

The Wirral lads supported the Manic Street Preachers on their recent arena tour, which stopped off at Arena Birmingham last month, and now they will get to be the main stars on the bill again.

The tour will be supporting Move Through The Dawn, available on August 17, and fans will be able to hear the new material amongst the classics when they arrive at the O2 Institute on October 5.

It is their first headline tour for two years, and supporting on all dates are She Drew The Gun, the acclaimed Liverpool quartet signed to Coral frontman James Skelly’s Skeleton Key label.

On top of the album, autumn tour and a bevvy of summer festival dates - including a home-made Skeleton Coast Festival in the Wirral to launch the record on September 1 - Nick Power, keyboardist, has written a new book, Into The Void, which will be published by Ebacc concurrently with the new album. Powers’ third book, Into The Void is an insightful, amusing and evocative first-hand account of the recording, release and touring of 2016's Distance Inbetween, which came after a five-year hiatus for the band.

Tour tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday, with a fan pre-sale under way from 9am today – see www.thecoral.co.uk for further details.
