Wolverhampton dessert shop is among cream of the crop

A Wolverhampton dessert shop was given the civic seal of approval after achieving top marks for food hygiene.

Wolverhampton Council's food safety team inspected Heavenly Desserts' branch in Darlington Street and awarded the business with a food hygiene rating of five.

Following the achievement, the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Claire Darke, visited the premises to try one of their signature creations.

Councillor Darke said: "I ordered the house special – waffles, strawberries, ice-cream and chocolate sauce. It was a generous portion and it was absolutely delicious.

"Friendly staff and great coffee to wash it down.

“For anyone with a sweet tooth – I highly recommend popping in to Heavenly Desserts, I can certainly see where they got their name from.

"Heavenly indeed. I will definitely be returning.”

Faye Pearson, food safety officer at Wolverhampton Council, added: "Food hygiene is so important and often gets over-looked. Achieving a food hygiene rating of five, fills customers with reassurance that they are eating in clean and safe environment to the highest standard as well as the business genuinely caring about its customers.

“I would like to congratulate Heavenly Desserts and the many businesses who continue to achieve such high ratings."
