Fans of tabletop gaming headed to Birmingham at the weekend for UK Games Expo.

Fans flock into the NEC as the show opens

The NEC event has been held for 12 years and attracts more than 300 different companies, from independent start-ups to major players in the industry.

Visitors were able to take advantage of a huge games library packed with all manner of board games, buy their own in the trade halls, and even learn about the history of board games at seminars about the industry.

Top tips were also on offer at the publisher-designer track for budding game designers. Some of the best gamers around competed in a host of national and international competitions, which could see them winning a trip to compete overseas.
