LGBT group holding pride event for charity

An LGBT group based in the Black Country are screening performance of local performers including singers and drag acts to raise money for charity.

LGBT Sparkle Wolverhampton is staging the online fun day on Saturday at 12pm on its Facebook page.

Money raised from the event will go to a charity called Caudwell Children which supports disabled children.

Paul Ryder, 35, from Wolverhampton, who is part of the group alongside his partner Marcus Cotterill, 48 said: “This will be the unofficial pride event of LGBT Sparkle Wolverhampton.

“There will be 29 different acts, including some drag performers, who will be shown in pre-recorded videos.”

The group was launched 11 months ago to support the LGBT community in Wolverhampton.
