The Salvation Army's Children's BIG Day Out will take place on Saturday (September 19), from 10am to 12.30pm at its centre in Merton Close.

The event is aimed particularly at children aged four to 12, who should be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Activities will include games, crafts, singing and worship, with organisers hoping to give children the chance to make new friends, try something different and learn more about faith and community.

Claire Highton-Nicholls, divisional children's worker for The Salvation Army in the West Midlands, said: "The BIG Day Out is about giving children a place where they can feel welcome, have fun, make friends, be creative and have a brilliant morning.

"We would love to see families from across the West Midlands come along and be part of it."

The event is free, although refreshments are not included.
