Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford continued his remarkable run of debut goals as Manchester United opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win over Basle.

Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at the impressive debut record of the 19-year-old.

Manchester United debut

(February 25, 2016, Europa League: Man United 5 Midtjylland 1)

Rashford was so far down the pecking order at Old Trafford his name did not even appear on the back of the matchday programme and he had only been called into the United starting line-up shortly before kick-off following an injury to Anthony Martial. However, the teenager marked his arrival in the Red Devils’ senior side with a second-half brace as Louis van Gaal’s side overcame a first-leg defeat to secure progress to the next stage.

Premier League debut

(February 28, 2016: Man Utd 3 Arsenal 2)

The young striker was rewarded with his first Premier League start just three days later, when a quick double midway through the first half helped see off Arsene Wenger’s side.

England debut

(May 27, 2016, international friendly: England 2 Australia 1)

Rashford pressed his case for a place at Euro 2016 with a dream goal on his senior England debut in the win at the Stadium of Light, volleying home after just two minutes and 18 seconds to become the nation’s third-youngest international scorer.

England Under-21 debut

(September 6, 2016, European Under-21 Championship qualifying: England Under-21s 6 Norway Under-21s 1)

The 18-year-old’s impressive record continued with a hat-trick in a first appearance for Gareth Southgate’s England Under-21s. Rashford opened the scoring on 29 minutes before completing his treble in the second half with a fine strike and a coolly-converted penalty.

League Cup debut

(September 21, 2016: Northampton 1 Manchester United 3)

Rashford, on as a substitute, rounded off the scoring by adding to Ander Herrera’s strike after Michael Carrick’s opener was cancelled out by Alex Revell’s penalty.

Champions League debut

(September 12, 2017: Manchester United 3 Basle 0)

Another substitute appearance, another rapid impact – Rashford’s career in Europe’s elite competition was just seven minutes old when he rammed home Marouane Fellaini’s deflected cut-back to seal a routine win.
