West Midlands century king Deaville lines up a hat-trick of top breaks
All the latest action from the Staffs & West Midlands Snooker Association.
Paul Deaville staked an early claim to take the Division One highest break prize for the third consecutive Staffs & West Midlands Snooker League season after a stunning 109 for Wednesfield Cons against his former side Hotshots.

Current champions Hotshots got off to a flying start as Karl Ashmore made a 49 break as he and Darren Oakes put Hotshots 2-0 ahead, but Wednesfield roared back thanks to the 109 break from the classy Deaville and Ryan Hamilton won the next to force the match into a deciding frame, which was won by Jamie Brown for Hotshots who are in joint second place.
Sedgley WMC lead Division One by one point after a 3-2 win at Stafford Institute. Steve Sears won the opening frame for Stafford before Andy Cambridge levelled the match as he won the next frame on the black for Sedgley in a frame that would prove to be pivotal. Stuart Pritchard made a 43 break in the next as Sedgley moved 2-1 in front and the match was over in the next as Richard Davies made it 3-1. Rhys Lampitt made a 32 break as he looked to make it 4-1, but they were the only points he scored after Robert Wharne made a 46 break to secure the consolation frame.
Hotshots B are the third and final team unbeaten in Division One after week two following their 3-2 victory over Shifnal War Memorial A, despite going 2-0 behind as John Fallows and Tom Maxfield took the opening frames, with Maxfield making a 42 break. Neil Beckley and Hasib Hussain won the next two for Hotshots B, and a 31 break from Hasan Hussain was enough to seal victory for the home side.
The opening fixtures in the Secretary's Cup took place this week and David Hall created history as he crafted the competition's first century break in his victory over Adam Clayton at Lea Hall WMC.
John Spencer is also through to the next round after navigating a tricky tie away at Pelsall Social Club. Spencer found himself 2-1 down and giving 40 points per frame to Chris Williams, but managed to force a deciding frame, during which he made a 44 break to win the match.
The Challenge Cup also saw fixtures played this week, with defending champions Hotshots A edging out club rivals Hotshots B thanks to Karl Ashmore, Darren Oakes, Callum Downing, Martin Quinney and Jamie Brown.
