Danescourt men add to trophy haul

Wolverhampton’s second team have rounded off a successful season by completing a league and cup double.

After sealing promotion to the top flight of the South Staffs League, the Danescourt outfit powered their way to glory in the First team KO final at Beacon.

Opener Dan Bowyer led the run charge with 98 from 64 balls as Wolves piled up 223-3 from 20 overs against Swindon.

Simon Lycett offered support with 60 in an opening stand of 168.

Syed Ahmad made 73 as Swindon were restricted to 136-5.

Wolves’ fourths lifted the thurd XI trophy after beating Walsall by three runs.

Pelsall took the second XI competition with an eight-wicket victory over Old Wulfs.
