'There's going to be changes' - Cesar Peixoto addresses Wolves' recruitment plans

Cesar Peixoto was quizzed on Wolves’ summer recruitment.

Cesar Peixoto is adamant he is not frustrated at Wolves’ quiet transfer window, but insists there will be changes to the squad before the transfer deadline.

Wolves have so far made three signings - one of which is now sidelined with injury in Rafiki Said - while the other major sale has been Joao Gomes to Villa.

The club were anticipating a squad overhaul, as former boss Rob Edwards insisted change was needed, but Peixoto has taken time to assess the players available to him this summer.

Now, the boss has said there will be incomings and outgoings before September 1.

“There’s going to be changes,” Peixoto told the Express & Star.

“The market is delayed and we try to manage the situation.

“Some players will go out, some players will come.

“We're going to change a lot, but me, Matt and Nathan, we know what we are doing.

“We work with these players, but we're going to bring more players to help us and improve the team for sure.

“We know what we need for the squad.

“Some things are going to happen, the market was delayed because of the World Cup.

“We know what we need, we know what we are doing, but the moment is the players I have to work with and I'm happy with them.

“The team works well, works hard, and has a good team spirit also.

“I think it's important to look at these players and find the solutions we want to improve the team.

“It's the most important thing, but I'm happy with these players.”

Peixoto told the Express & Star two weeks ago, during an interview in the club’s training camp in Portugal, that he wanted another winger, midfielder and ‘one or two’ more positions.

No more signings have come in since then, but the head coach insists he is not frustrated with the lack of activity and is confident there will be signings.

“I’m not frustrated because I have to manage the situation,” Peixoto said.

“I'm happy with these players, I'm happy with the improvement of the team.

“But me as a coach, I want to close the team as soon as possible.

“It's normal. All the coaches want to close the team on the first day, but it's not possible because of the market.

“But I believe in the people I work with and I believe in what we are doing in the club and in the team.

“I think we're going to find the right solutions to improve the team and have a good season.”
