Wolves have plenty to ponder, says Fabio Silva

Young striker Fabio Silva admits Wolves have a lot of thinking to do after falling to a humiliating defeat at the hands of Burnley.

Wolves’ worst display of a difficult 2020/21 campaign saw them thrashed 4-0 by the Clarets on Sunday.

And club-record signing Silva, who came on as a second-half substitute in the drubbing, knows they need to take a long look at themselves on the back of it.

“The team has to think about the game. We have to do a better way,” said Silva.

“Like a pack, I think we have to stay together. We have to think about the next game.

“It’s difficult when you are losing 3-0, so quickly.

“You have to think about that. Giving the advantage to Burnley, after that the comeback is difficult.

“Now, we have to rest and think about this game, and think about the next game.”

Wolves completely fell apart at the back as Chris Wood grabbed a first-half hat-trick for the visitors, before setting up Ashley Westwood to wrap things up late on at Molineux.

And in attack, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side created very little – Silva not seeing much of the ball after coming on for Nelson Semedo.

Wolves only had two efforts on target compared to Burnley’s seven.

And on if they need to be more unpredictable in the final third going into the Black Country derby against Albion at The Hawthorns on Monday, £35million teenager Silva added: “Burnley is one of the best teams in the Premier League for defending.

“It’s difficult on crosses as they put a lot of people in the box, so it’s difficult to score.

“But the team has to do things and create problems.

“It was not a good day for us, but I think the next game is better.”
