Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit fifth in the Premier League table after a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in their previous game, writes Adam Virgo.

But how have the recent meetings between the two sides gone? Take a look at the past meetings between the teams.

Steven Fletcher (centre) celebrates scoring his side's first goal

The most recent match between these two sides dates back a few years, ending in a good result for Wolves at White Hart Lane.

None of the Wolves players in the squad that day are still at the club, something that won't come as a big surprise to many, Dave Edwards was the last man standing before he left Molineux for Reading in August 2017.

Wolves got off to a great first half in London, leading the game at the break after Steven Fletcher's controversial opener in the 22nd minute. It was the first goal Spurs had conceded at home in 359 minutes that season.

A 20-yard strike from Luka Modric levelled the game up in the 51st minute but Mick McCarthy's side managed to hold on for a precious point.

A point again this time around would be seen as a great result as Wolves look to challenge another top six side.

Wolves entered this game in an impressive fifth place after two wins and a draw early in the season, whilst Spurs were sitting bottom of the table, conceding eight goals in two games.

However, this game ended in Wolves' first defeat of the campaign after second half goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe.

On another day Wolves could have picked up at least a point but they didn't score when on top and the quality from the visitors eventually showed.

A similar performance this time around with Wolves' current squad would surely give them a great chance of getting a positive result, providing they take their chances, something they've struggled to do a few times already this season.

Wolves 3 Tottenham 3 - March 6 2011

Kevin Doyle scores his second

An exhilarating yet controversial game at Molineux saw six goals scored as Wolves managed to rescue a late and well-deserved point.

Fans will remember the minute's applause before kick-off in honour of former Wolves and Tottenham defender Dean Richards, who sadly died a week prior to the game.

Kevin Doyle opened the scoring for Wolves after 20 minutes but Jermain Defoe turned the game on its head with two quick-fire goals.

Doyle equalised five minutes before half-time from the penalty spot after Nenad Milijas had been tugged back by last man Alan Hutton, who arguably should have seen a red card.

Tottenham took the lead early in the second half thanks to a long-range strike from Roman Pavlyuchenko courtesy of a slight deflection.

Wolves were hard done by in the late stages when referee Mark Halsey harshly disallowed a Richard Stearman header for an adjudged foul on goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

It then looked like Spurs would hold on, until Steven Fletcher's 87th minute header earned a deserved point for Mick McCarthy's men.

David Jones and Benoit Assou-Ekotto

Another lively encounter between these two sides. Wolves took the lead but duly conceded three goals in the final 15 minutes subjecting them to their second straight defeat.

Steven Fletcher opened the scoring with a tap in just before half time, keeping up his strong scoring streak against the Londoners.

Tottenham, who were looking for their first home goal and win of the Premier League season, needed three late second half strikes from Rafael van der Vaart, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Alan Hutton to gain all three points.

The visitors held firm and frustrated Spurs for parts, but the penalty from Van der Vaart in the 77th minute gave the home side momentum to go on and win the game, with Hutton adding salt to the wounds with a stoppage time goal after a mix-up between Richard Stearman and Marcus Hahnemann.

Heurelho Gomes keeps the ball out.

The final of our five games between the sides saw Wolves move out of the bottom three in the Premier League after gaining a vital three points, completing the double over Tottenham in the process.

Wolves capitalised on one of Tottenham's worst performances of the season, David Jones scoring the only goal of the game, securing Mick McCarthy's side their first win of 2010.

Spurs failed to properly test Marcus Hahnemann all evening as Wolves shut-out their opponents in a decent overall performance.

However, they only managed to win two of their final 13 games following the 1-0 victory over Spurs, which also included three 0-0 draws.

Another performance and result like that this time around will see Nuno's side stay in the top half of the Premier League table and deliver a timely boost for fans after two straight defeats.
