And the Wolves captain certainly wasn't backing down when he went head to head with ex-Liverpool team mate Steven Gerrard.

Miller, the match-winner against United, stroked home a Denis Irwin cross and Wolves earned a dramatic last-gasp point.

Reds boss Gerard Houllier admitted his players' emotions had got the better of them.

As for Ince and Gerrard, they soon made up.

Gerrard said after the game: "I thought Paul Ince was trying to get a penalty when it wasn't. That's just one of those things which happens in a game and it's forgotten about now so far as I'm concerned.

"We swapped shirts at the end so there's no problem."

Wolves defender Paul Butler added: "It was just handbags with Incey and Gerrard.

"They're good mates. Incey just tries to get everyone going - players and crowd - and it worked in the end."
