The 22-year-old striker threatened to strike on social media at the end of last summer's transfer window when Albion chairman Jeremy Peace refused to sell him to Tottenham.
Berahino was reunited with his family after fleeing his native country of Burundi as a lone 10-year-old, and the forward is understandably close to his mother.
