The Baggies are about to embark on a run of fixtures that will have a huge say on whether or not they can stay in the Premier League.

Starting with the visit of Fulham on Saturday, Allardyce’s men face five teams in and around them in the table in their next seven outings.

But they enter the clash against Scott Parker’s side having been in dreadful form on home turf.

The Baggies have conceded 22 goals in their last five outings at The Hawthorns – with that woeful record leading to heavy defeats at Crystal Palace, Villa, Leeds, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Allardyce admits – with no fans inside the stadium – he is at a loss why the Baggies have tended to perform better on the road this term with the team impressing in recent outings at Man City, Liverpool and Wolves.

But he says he has to solve the issue quickly with that match against Fulham one his team really needs to win.

“I have moved the team around, I thought we were going in the right direction,” the Dudley-born boss said.

“But all of a sudden this massive jinx has popped up where we can’t even play well at The Hawthorns let alone win.

“That is very disturbing for me because how do I work that one out? How do I understand that? What is the reason?

“There are no fans here but there are no fans when we play away from home.

“But Man City before I got here, Liverpool, Wolves – even West Ham which was a defeat but an outstanding performance as to how we went about our task – all our points are coming away from home.

“That is a massive problem for me to solve but I have to solve it on Saturday because I need to get a win against Fulham.”

Meanwhile, Allardyce has confirmed he would sanction a move for Grosicki to leave the club.

The Poland international almost joined Nottingham Forest in the summer but the paper work for the deal was submitted 21 seconds too late.

The Championship side also tried to sign him again earlier this month.

Grosicki did start the recent games against Wolves and West Ham. But he was left out the squad for the Manchester City game on Tuesday.

Asked if leaving him out meant he was available for the transfer, Allardyce said: “He could have gone to Nottingham Forest but he refused.

“He has already been told if the right opportunity comes up for him he can leave because that obviously puts more funds in the pot to bring more players in before the deadline.”
