Snapped up from Rotherham in the summer for £1.5million, Ajayi is set to be part of the Baggies team that takes on Swansea tomorrow.

The Nigerian international has impressed in 36 outings for Slaven Bilic’s side this season. And the 26-year-old is grateful for the support he has received from his head coach, team mates and Albion’s fans.

“Every player wants to play every week and get that run of games and know they have got the confidence of their team-mates, the fans and most importantly their manager,” Ajayi said.

“The fact I have been able to do that so far, I am really pleased with. I’m just looking to continue to keep working hard to make sure it continues.”

With just 10 games of the season remaining, Albion head to the Liberty Stadium looking to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat against Wigan last weekend.

That result ended a six-game unbeaten run for Bilic’s side, with five of those results ending in victories. And Ajayi says the team are eager to bounce back and build on what, otherwise, was an impressive February. “Hopefully, we can get back to winning ways,” he continued. “We’re not thinking about how many games are left. The focus now is on Swansea and Swansea alone.

“We will be doing all we can to get maximum points against them and then the focus will switch to the next game, as it should do.

“We know it’ll be a tough game but we’ve got to try and do everything we can to get three points.

“February on the whole was very good. If you look at the performances as well as the results I think we can be very happy looking back on the month. We would have loved to beat Wigan to round off the month but that doesn’t change the results we have managed to pick up previously.”
