Moore has been handed temporary charge of the first team until the end of the season, but is taking his new role one game at a time and has refused to divulge whether he wants the managerial job permanently.

However, he has revealed he would like to stay at the club for next season as part of the staff.

“I’ve got the utmost respect for the club, everyone knows that,” he said. “Whatever direction is to come in the future then I’d very much hope to be a part of that.

“For now, let’s just focus on the Man United game and go from there.”

Albion appointed former Italian goalkeeper Giuliano Terraneo as a technical consultant this week after sacking technical director Nick Hammond.

Terraneo, who has a short-term contract until September, will be helping to appoint a new head coach and a new technical director over the summer.

Moore plans to speak to him in detail over the next few weeks, and will tell him that he will give everything to whatever position the club ask him to fill.

“I met him briefly for a few minutes,” said Moore. “In the weeks ahead I might sit down and have a good chat with him.

“I’m contracted to the football club and everybody knows whatever role the club sees me filling, I’ll give it 100 per cent. Whatever that may be.

“I’m sure you’ll know in the future. For now I’ll just continue doing the role I’ve been asked to do to the best of my ability.”

Terraneo’s arrival has sparked intrigue among supporters and speculation of a new European direction for the Baggies following the appointments of experienced British managers, Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew.

But Moore refused to be drawn into any speculation, saying: “I’ll just remain focused on the job in hand.

“I can’t comment on anything else because there’s a lot for me to worry about in terms of the game, planning and preparing.

“Let the speculation carry on. I’m just focused on what I’ve been called in to do.”

Hammond left the club this week after less than two years, and was axed largely because of his prominent role in appointing Pardew as head coach.

“I had a wonderful working relationship with Nick,” said Moore. “The club has decided to make another change there so Nick moves on, but we thank him for his services at the club.

“He was a good man and had Albion’s best interests at heart. I wish him well moving forward.”
