Lee Grant targeting development for both parties in Walsall 'alignment'
Walsall appointed Lee Grant on a three-year deal.
Lee Grant believes Walsall offers him a ‘stable platform’ for success for both the club and his own development.
After retiring from his long playing career, Grant spent three years as a first team coach at Ipswich before eight months in the role as head coach at Huddersfield.
He now takes on his next big challenge as Walsall boss and the 43-year-old believes both himself and the club can benefit from the appointment.
"It's a wonderful opportunity and stability is really important,” Grant said.
"Do I feel that this football club offers me an opportunity for a stable platform for the next portion of my career? The answer to that is yes.
"I've looked at what the club has been known for in the last few years, the opportunity they have given Matt and his staff, what they have done in terms of player development - all of those things were in the pot when it came to what I think Walsall can offer me, as much as what I can offer Walsall.
"It's very much a two-way thing and I'm really pleased that, coming out of all those conversations and that thought process, the answer was that yes I think Walsall can offer me a wonderful platform for the next few years of my career and the next stage of my development.
"It's nice we have that alignment.”
