Birmingham boxer Eddie McIntosh is determined to grasp his big shot at stardom with both hands in Prizefighter.

The 27-year-old will meet former amateur champion Daniel Cadman in the eight-man, one-night, three-rounds-a-fight tournament at London's York Hall tomorrow night.

McIntosh is a former British Masters champion but national exposure has eluded him before now, having yet to even box outside of his hometown.

This comes despite an 11-fight pro record with just one defeat in his last bout against Carl Drake - who could yet be called into Prizefighter as a reserve should injury befall one of the competitors.

A double-figure unbeaten streak was shattered in four rounds that night in March, and this is McIntosh's first time in the ring since.

But the second city fighter will step through the ropes in his first television appearance, live on Sky Sports, eager to show the boxing public that they don't call him 'Braveheart' for nothing.

He said: "This is the biggest night of my career, without a shadow of a doubt.

"But if it all goes well and I perform on the day, I believe I have got a good chance of beating anybody in the competition.

"Something like this I probably needed a fight or two ago, because I have got into a bit of a ruck. A competition like this can blow your profile through the roof, even I get through to the semi-finals it can open up new doors for me.

"It's going to be a whole new experience for me, I have never even boxed on TV before so that alone is a big motivation for me.

"I am just working on making sure that I put on a good performance, that is the main thing."
