Wolverhampton homeless support charity gets funding boost after receiving generous donation from energy management service

A charity helping to support homeless people across Wolverhampton has received a sizeable donation after being chosen by supporters of an energy management service.

Energy Angels has celebrated reaching 1,000 followers on LinkedIn by donating £1,000 to the Good Shepherd, which was chosen by Energy Angels’ LinkedIn community through a public poll.

Good Shepherd came out on top, with Energy Angels saying it reflected the strong support for the work they do in tackling poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity in the local community in Wolverhampton.

Lucy Cox, fundraising, grants and development manager at Good Shepherd, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this generous donation which will help us to continue providing vital services alongside those facing challenges in our community.

"Good Shepherd is hugely grateful to Energy Angels for championing local charities and making a real difference.”

Ash Burd, general manager at Energy Angels, said: “Reaching 1,000 followers on LinkedIn was a fantastic milestone for us, but we wanted to mark it in a way that made a positive impact.

"By asking our followers to vote for a chosen charity, we made sure our celebration supported a worthy cause and are delighted to help a charity so close to the community we work in.

"We’re proud to back Good Shepherd and the incredible work they do.”
