Travel warning issued to commuters ahead of Aston Villa victory parade in Birmingham
Aston Villa are set to celebrate their victory at the Europa League final in Istanbul last night.
Commuters have been warned of travel disruption in Birmingham as Aston Villa are set for a victory parade following their historic win last night.
Youri Tielemans, Emi Buendia and Morgan Rogers scored the goals in a 3-0 win over the German team Freiburg after going head-to-head in Istanbul on May 20.
It was the club's first European title since 1982 and a record-extending fifth triumph in the competition for manager Unai Emery.
Tonight (May 21), the team are set for a victory parade in Birmingham, which has prompted a transport warning for commuters travelling between 4pm and 7pm.
In a post on X, West Midlands Railway said that due to the parade: “services to and from Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Snow Hill maybe busier between 16:00 and 19:00. Please check before you travel: https://orlo.uk/dRvb3.”
