The crash happened at Cosford Grange Lodge, between Shifnal and Cosford, on the A464 at 10.53am.

It closed roads in the area throughout the day and emergency services remained on the scene into the afternoon

Paul Roberts, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "Police are currently at the scene of a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry on the A464 near Cosford Grange Farm.

"The incident happened at 10.50am and a man riding the motorcycle has sadly been confirmed deceased.

"Road closures are being put in place at Bowling Green Lane and Kennel Lane, along with the junction for Ryton and Beckbury.

"Any who saw the incident or the manner in which either vehicle was being driven before the collision is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 244s of July 24."

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “On arrival at the scene, crews discovered a motorcyclist with multiple serious injuries.

“Unfortunately, it immediately became apparent that nothing could be done to save the patient who was confirmed deceased at the scene.

“The lorry driver, a man, was assessed but was uninjured in the incident and therefore discharged at the scene.”
