More than 700 people have given their signatures to block the proposed developed on green space, called Corbett Meadow, at the rear of Corbett Outpatient Centre, on Vicarage Road, in Amblecote, Stourbridge.

A public exhibition of the plans was held last night at Stourbridge Football Club, with dozens of people attending to speak with consultants and voice their opinions.

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, which owns the land, has put it forward for development.

The exhibition was held by Countryside Properties.

It comes after guidance was issued by the government for the NHS to dispose of surplus land.

Concerns were raised at the meeting that local infrastructure would be impacted – with increased pressure on roads, schools and medical services.
